“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace.” – 1 Peter 4:10
The St. Edward Feast Day Festival is one of our parish’s most anticipated annual events. It’s a joyful weekend filled with food, fellowship, games, auctions, entertainment, and fun for all ages. This year’s festival will take place on October 11–12, 2025, and proceeds will support the “TLC for the PLC” project — including a new roof, sound system, LED lighting, and technology upgrades.
By joining the Feast Day Festival Committee or volunteering, you will help bring our parish family together, support our mission, and create an unforgettable and joyful community celebration.
Whether you can help in the months leading up to the festival or just during the event weekend, your gifts and talents are needed and appreciated! Please visit our table at the Festival of Ministries on Hospitality Sunday, August 10, 2025 after any of the morning masses or contact the parish office at 281-353-9774 to learn more.
The Feast Day Festival Committee begins planning in January each year for the October festival. We meet approximately 20 times before the festival, with each meeting lasting 1–2 hours. Committee members will also spend additional time outside of meetings organizing, planning, and preparing their specific areas.
For the first couple of months from January to June we typically will meet once per month for initial ideas, goals, and overall planning of what worked last year and what we want to accomplish this year. Those meetings typically last 2 hours each.
After June, we may increase the meeting cadence to every two weeks. Due to summer vacations for some, you may or may not be able to attend all of them. Leading up to August is when things start to go live and there is a lot more activity. Again, those meetings are generally 2 hours to 2.5 hours each.
From August to October (Feastival Day) we are in a mode of selling tickets and promoting the event. Those meetings and ticket sales may take 2 hours per week of your time. Certain roles for the Live Auction may take more time preparing baskets and items for auction. Those roles may be 4+ hours per week.
The weekend of the Festival is an "all hands on deck" event. Depending on your role you may be spending in excess of 8 hours that weekend alone on the Festival.
The time goes fast and is well worth it. We hope you consider joining our team.
