Altar Servers assist at the Altar during weekend Masses, Funeral Masses, Wedding Masses, and other Holy Days.
The Altar Servers are boys or girls who have received their First Communion and are in 3rd grade through 12th grade. They will have to serve at least twice a month and open to serve weddings (usually Saturday) and funerals.
Sacristans are in charge of preparing the items needed for the Mass and assuring that all assigned liturgical ministers are present for the Mass. After the Mass, they are responsible for storing all the items used in the liturgy. They are chosen to serve by the clergy. Let us know if you’re interested in being considered.
The Ushers serve at an assigned Mass, greeting the parishioners at the Church door and assisting them during Mass. They also distribute bulletins and are responsible for gathering the offerings.
Lectors proclaim the Word of God at weekday and at Sunday Masses and at special parish celebrations. This ministry is an opportunity for service for those with good speaking voices.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion distribute the precious Body and Blood of Jesus under both species at the Sunday Masses, Holy Day Masses, and weekday Masses. They also bring communion to the sick.
The candidate must be 18 years of age or a senior in high school.
N.B. Persons in irregular marriages (married invalidly outside of the church), cohabitating couples, members of forbidden organizations (e.g. Free Masonry, etc.), priests who have left active ministry (even if laicized), notorious sinners, etc. are prohibited from this ministry.
Volunteers arrange flowers and plants for the Church. The commitment time varies.
Teams who assist the priest or deacon and the wedding party during rehearsal and the wedding ceremony. Rehearsals are usually Friday evening with weddings on Saturday. Coordinators are scheduled for upcoming wedding and work total of 3-4 hours per wedding.
Teams who assist the priest, deacon or family as the community gathers to support a member during the funeral Mass.
